Rutherglen & District Garden Club – 27th Annual Flower Show 10th April 2016

Rutherglen & District Garden Club is holding its 27th Annual Flower Show incorporating the Victorian Autumn Country Rose Championship on Sunday 10th April 2016 at the Memorial Hall, High Street, Rutherglen.  12.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m.

$6.00 admission fee includes afternoon refreshment.

Children are admitted free.  Lunches will be available to purchase.

There will be a presentation of trophies at 3.00 p.m.

 

Wodonga TAFE students exhibit at the Albury Show

Students from the horticulture department who had completed the units ‘maintain nursery plants’ and ‘prepare specialised plants’ entered exhibits into the Albury Show last weekend.

They achieved first and second in Hanging container Plant in bloom, first and second in Plant in recycled container, first and second in Hanging container of plants and first in Hanging container of Ivy.

Plant sales at Horticulture Department

 

IMG_1402There are a number of plants for sale – these plants grown by the Certificate III students are very reasonably priced.  Visit the Agriculture/Horticulture Department to see the range available.  Presently we have tomatoes, parsley, sage, artichoke, coriander, gift lines, assorted shrubs – just to name a few!

 

Open Garden – Jindera

Canna in flower‘Coorong’ 173 Hawthorn Road Jindera – Sunday 15th Novembr  9.00am – 4.00pm.

Garden features include dry stone walls, a running creek, garden art and much much more.  (Children must be supervised at all times because of unguarded water features)

Morning tea with gourmet sandwiches and patisseries $7.50

BBQ featuring Grassroots Beef.  Books for sale – plants for sale.

This is an event to raise money to support the Murray Valley Sanctuary Refugee Group.

Mt. Macedon of the North East – Open Gardens – STANLEY 2015

Forest PansySix of Stanley district’s finest gardens are opening for one day only.

These gardens will be open on Saturday 7th November 2015 from 10 am – 4 pm.  These gardens showcase established cool climate plants with many rare trees and shrubs – all in full spring flight!

$20 covers entry to all 6 gardens.  Tickets available with a map from the Stanley Recreation Reserve – just follow the signs.

Teas/Lunch – home-made morning and afternoon teas will be served in one garden and a BBQ lunch can be bought at the Stanly Recreation Reserve/Oval.

The gardens are opening to raise funds for the Save Stanley Water Campaign.

Gardens Around the Glen – Ist November 2015

On 1st November 2015 Rutherglen & District Garden Club will present “Gardens Round the Glen”, a garden walkabout with 7 open gardens in Corowa, Wahgunyah and Rutherglen.  The gardens will be open from 10.00 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. There will be a plant stall and refreshments and light luncheon will be available.  List of gardens and maps will be available from the Information Centres in Rutherglen and Corowa, local nurseries and from any of the gardens. A $10.00 fee will provide entry to all the gardens.

Red Cross Morning Tea and Garden Party – Table Top 2015

Australian Red Cross Table Top Branch annual Morning Tea and Garden Party will be held in the homestead garden of Kerryn and Bradley Hayden on their property, “Glandore”, Plunkett Road, Bowna on Monday, 26th October, 2015 at 10.30 am. Entry cost of $10 per person includes a delicious morning tea. Raffles,plant and produce stalls available.
